GITHUBSpot is an easy to use cross-platform fitness application iOS and Android. Existing fitness apps are often cluttered with training planes, calorie counters and recipes all mixed-together. In our user research we found that advanced users often disregard those apps after a short amount of time. They expressed the desire to use their phone to assist their training, without needing to subscribe to the often expensive and cluttered apps. The Spot App Features a very intuitive and minimalistic UI, which allows for easy creation, editing and managing of one’s workouts. The choice for a Front-End Framework fell on Flutter, to allow a future release on iOS while the backend is handled with an SQLite database.

Gartenfreund is an inclusive audio guide for the botanical garden in
Würzburg. The guide consists of twelve stations, which can be
activated by scanning an NFC Tag with the Gartenfreund App. The
tactile stations are permanently installed in the rainforest
greenhouse and equipped with attention fields on the ground. This,
combined with auditive instructions from the app, allows for
independent exploration of the greenhouse for visitors with visual
impairments.
The underlying research can be found in our paper:
